A rhombicuboctahedron is a rectified cuboctahedron. This uniform polyhedron can in turn be rectified or truncated, obtaining two types of pentacontahedra. In his book Structure in Nature is a Strategy for Design Peter Pearce showed that both can be used as part of a space filling system. The space filling system based on the rectified rhombicuboctahedron can be build with Zometool, using yellow and half-green struts.

The space filling system based on the truncated rhombicuboctahedron can also be build with Zometool, and requires yellow, half-blue and half-green struts struts.
