Building a Zometool model of the Final Stellation of the Icosahedron would require to put two green Zometool struts in the same pentagonal hole, as shown in the upper half of the picture:

This impossibility can be bypassed by designing (see vZome and Openscad files) a modified g2 strut, as shown in the lower half of the picture: instead of bending towards a pentagonal hole, it bends in the other direction towards the neighbouring rectangular hole, at both ends of the strut. The tips of the struts are generated by vZome’s 3D Printing Starters.

The physical model is constructed around a paneled Small Stellated Dodecahedron with edge length b2. All blue struts in the model are standard Zometool struts:
